Degree
Master’s Program : Students who are in the mastor’s programs are required to complete the degree program of IDEC. Students are also required to take the three core courses and some optional course specified by the GELs program and to pass through open review by mentors.
Doctoral Program: Students who are in the doctoral programs are required to complete the degree program of IDEC. Students are also required to take a core seminar and some optional course specified by the GELs program and to pass through open review by mentors.
Curriculum
Core Course (M): International Environmental Cooperation Studies I & II
These classes are integrated classes provided by academic professors in/outside of IDEC and researchers in the field of environmental cooperation. Students will obtain fundamental and professional knowledge needed to apply social and natural scientific knowledge concerning mitigation and adaptation of global environmental issues.
Core Course (M, D): Practical Seminar on International Cooperation Project
To address environmental issues, students organize a multidisciplinary research team. Students learn a research project management through operating a joint research. This class gives students a research opportunity to explore a new field and to tackle existing complex environmental issues.
Optional course (M, D): Internship
The internship program is intended to impart specialized knowledge, technical skills, and designing skills to students while undergoing internship abroad. By solving problems encountered on site, capability is developed to lead International Cooperation Studies.
Optional course (M, D): Developing Designing Ability
To this extent, this course employs a practical of debate and case writing so as to go through the process of interpreting and describing phenomena in the field by relating individual experiences and multidimensional knowledge critically to each other. This course is also required as a part of preparatory training for G.ecbo (Global Internship) Special Education Program as well.

GELs Grand in Aid
The research grant provides financial support to GELs students for their research activities. This attempt aims that students can acquire know-how on conducting research activity, managing the research fund through experiencing the whole process from preparation of a research proposal to reporting a research outcome.
GELs Research Progress Review
The public review on research progress by mentors is conducted.
